Family Reunion

I have been looking forward to this all week. A day of reunion. Oh,  I know, we stay in touch throughout the week and on Sabbath we are with our friends and family and my how wonderful it is, but now we get to be with our Father as we interact with those we care so much for.  Oh the Sabbath, the best day for a family reunion. Hope yours is a blessing to you and to all those you encounter.

Re-creation

Here it is again just like clockwork . The Sabbath, a day of recreation. What will you spend it doing? Hiking? Swimming? Walking? Biking? Out in nature somehow, somewhere? Playing with the kids or grandkids? Playing with the kids on your street that really do not know you?  Oh I’m sorry, I see I misspelled a word and it has taken this note another direction completely. Please forgive me. The word was re-creation. That’s what Sabbath is a day of re-creation. Ahhh thats better, a Day when the Creator wants to re create you anew, clean up the garbage of the week and make things fresh again. Go ahead give Him a chance and if you spend some time doing anything else mentioned here maybe some of what He has done for you will rub off on those you come in contact with.  Just a thought. Bon Sabbat.

Now you can relax.

Dear family, Here it is and it didn’t sneak up on you or did it ? You knew it was coming and you have been looking forward to it. So are you ready. I hope so. Now you can relax, put your feet up get a glass of cool water, put your head back, take a deep breath, and soak it all in. It feels so good. Doesn’t it?  Now, with your eyes still closed, embrace the fact that the Creator is right there with you and is in tune to all you are doing and thinking.  How perfect is that ! All you have to do is think on Him and He will be happy to commune with you .  Wow !!  I’ll let you go now, I don’t want to interrupt.

Enjoy this Day

So your boat is in the middle of a storm and the waves are to big and it looks like you might not make. Is that a picture of your week?  Well never fear the one who calmed the storm so long ago on Galilee has preserved a calm place for you just now. In the middle of one thing or another he has given you the Sabbath. Not only has He given it to you but He wants to share it with you. Now what could be better than that, a smooth spot in a rough world and the Creator wants to spend time with you. I hope you don’t let anything or anyone else get in the way of a great time.  Enjoy this Day.

Memorial Day

Ahhhhhh how sweet it is Memorial Day weekend is here and it all starts with the ultimate Memorial Day, the Sabbath.   A memorial day from the beginning of time and celebrated weekly by Sabbatarians worldwide just as God intended. Memorial is something that is set up so we can remember it. How interesting that God would tell us to remember The Sabbath Day. And oh, what perfect timing, once a week. Just the perfect spacing for the rest we need. Truly the perfect amount of time we need away from the world to celebrate and be rejuvenated by the One who made it and us.

It’s here.

It’s here but you knew it was coming even before it arrived. That means you can’t say it snuck up on you. In fact you actually have been looking forward to it because you know there is no other day like the Sabbath. Now that it is here use it for all it’s worth. Feast on the goodness of the One who made it. Taste and see that the Sabbath is a blessing from Heaven. Bon Sabbat!!!

Sweet Relief

Oh sweet relief. The end of the work week and the beginning of the Sabbath. This week I worked the entire week within about 50 feet of a big machine that was excavating rock all day every day, no down time at all, ear protection was a must, even then there was no communication without yelling even when you were standing only a few feet away from the other person. There was just no way to get away from the relentless pressure of noise, irratation and distraction.  I’m sure that in the world you found yourself there was something that seemed to be never ending,the pressure was relentless, anywhere you went to get away from it it followed you. The one who persues us nonstop and makes us weary did not create the Sabbath. He has no dominion over it and he cannot take the blessing out of it. The God who created it, as everlasting, once again invites us to come away with Him. As the two of you spend time together this Sabbath lay your burdens on Him. He wants them. After you have unloaded, break out in a song of praise to Him and all His glory. It’s ok if someone is listening,they might just join in, how cool would that be.

A Break

In a world and week filled with turmoil and destruction we are a weary people and all we want is a break from it all. It seems as though the difficulties are relentless. Here is the good news. Sabbath is here!!! Just the break you need. Just the break you want. Just what you’ve been wishing for. The One you cry out to is waiting to spend quality time with you on this His day. He has your answer all you have to do is ask the question. Go ahead He is listening.

He is Risen!

What I didn’t get done on Monday I ended up not getting done til Thursday. Oh yeah the rest of my week got all jumbled up too,but guess what, the one day that cannot be substituted for another day is arriving as the sun goes down. It is a Rock solid day that is filled with peace and rest. Isn’t there a tremendous amount of symbolism in the fact that Jesus had without a doubt the most hectic week of His time here on earth and when the work week was over He rested in the tomb on Sabbath. The angels guarded His tomb so there would be no disturbing His peace. Then sometime after the Sabbath was over the Father called Him forth. He is risen !!! On this Sabbath let nothing disturb the peace that He has planned for you as you worship Him. Love to you all and His peace be on you even now.
